Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR):

*MBSR Programs are “on pause” due to Covid19, you can be placed on a waitlist

Learn about mindfulness, the stress response and practice mindfulness meditations to reduce stress and anxiety. Participate in mindfulness practices to improve your life, reduce stress and balance your mind, body and mood.

MBSR helps with stress related to divorce, medical, tests, friends, family, media, and overscheduling and is offered as an 8-week program, 4-day summer intensive series or half-day retreat. MBSR has been found to help you develop inner resources for life and positively changes your brain!

MBSR Teen:

The MBSR Teen program is currently offered as an MBSR retreat for ages 13-17. This half-day retreat supports teens in listening to themselves, chilling out, bringing awareness to inside and outside experiences, refocusing their attention, increasing joy and reducing overall anxiety and stress. These skills help them to find balance with school, home, media and friends and be more effective in life.

This retreat includes research-based guided mindfulness meditations on emotions, thoughts and body (ie. having your feelings without your feelings having you) and concepts specific to teens in everyday life to promote focus, help them face challenges and live a happier life. MBSR helps teens build skills for life-long mental and emotional health

*Teens that attend the retreat are strongly encouraged to participate in the in-depth 8-week class to apply the skills over-time and engage in structured practice for the most benefit.

The Wise Owls program is an MBSR class for ages 7-12 and promotes mindful awareness of body, mind and emotions so that children are able to listen to themselves and are better able to choose what they say and do. Children practice sitting like a frog, stillness and learning the skills to use their full attention. There are mindful awareness activities, guided mindfulness meditations and helpful skills and concepts such as “almost moments” to promote calm, kindness and focus with friends and at school and home. This can help to reduce test anxiety, bullying and effectiveness in the school setting (This class is currently offered at schools only or by  individual skills training appt).

MBSR Young Child and Caregiver:

The Calming Ourselves Together program is an MBSR class for children and parent’s ages 0-6 and is offered as a community program.
