Standard Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT skills help to improve relationships, manage emotions, increase self-awareness and cope with distress. These skills are for pre-teens, teens, parents and adults who have difficulty managing their emotions, have impulsive behaviors and an under-controlled style of coping.
DBT skills help to replace problem behaviors with more skillful ones that work both short-term and long-term. The DBT skills program is offered as a 16-week series for adolescents (13-18yrs) and a 24-week series for adults (18yrs+) without high-risk behaviors (hospital, suicide attempt, or self-harm) in the last 3 months. This is offered for client’s with mild to moderate levels of anxiety, depression, and individuals with strong emotions and impulsive behaviors.
Adult DBT skills (Ages 18+): 24 weeks
Adolescent DBT skills (Ages 13-18): 16 weeks *Parent’s are strongly recommended to attend with their teen to reinforce the DBT skills at home.
